Gay men CAN jump …

Tim McCloud

by Jessica Carreras

Tim McCloud wants to let the world know that gay men can play sports, despite the ever-popular stereotype. The 31-year-old Royal Oak resident is an avid runner, plays basketball and is manager of the Affirmations kickball team. He stays active both in sports, with volunteer work and with his work with Adcraft Club of Detroit.

A wolf tamed for a cause...

Dashing, sophisticated, masculine, and downright gorgeous? Is this really the same half-humanoid/half-wolfman who's made a name for himself playing the wild yet loveable feral beast these past two years for the Aussie National Rugby League?

What difference a clean shave and the vision of a brilliant photographer the likes of Pedro Virgil can make.... I'd say the transformation has indeed been quite remarkable ... So much so even Hollywood's started to take notice...

For those of you not familiar with this man by now... well, I welcome you out from under your rock hiding place... (I kid of course )... But I'm pretty sure Mr. David Williams's gorgeous face has been spotted here and there by now? He's of course only one of a select few prominent players featured in perhaps one of the hottest rugby hunk calendars since... well since the early days of French Dieux du Stade's classic rugby hotness .

David's transformation from bearded rugby wolfman to (arguably) hottest rugby player on earth was of course best captured in the complementary 'making of' DVD released back in mid-may...

Admittedly he kind of comes across like a loose cannon, but I guess at the end of the day, that's part of the appeal as well ...

Both the Gods of Football calendar and 'making of' DVD benefit the McGrath Foundation for battling breast cancer. A worthy cause no doubt, and ultimately rendering the hotness founder herein pretty noble in its endeavor...

The Gods of Football calendar can still be purchased through Amazon, along with the 'making of DVD' (which incidentally became available in the UK early last month). The DVD itself really speaks volumes as to just how powerfully built rugby players are... and were it making the case as to whether Rugby players are in fact the hottest athletes on earth, I think it's succeeded on that front as well .

As for Mr. Williams himself... Just Beautiful ...

Study ranks NFL’s most handsome quarterbacks

Aug 30th, 2009 by Jim Buzinski.

Alex Smith

Here is the Top 10 based on facial symmetry:

Matt Ryan (Atlanta),  99.82%
Brett Favre (Minnesota),  99.78%
Aaron Rodgers (Green Bay),  99.59%
Matt Hasselbeck (Seattle),  99.56%
Kerry Collins (Tennessee), 99.49%
Ben Roethlisberger (Pittsburgh),  99.43%
Shaun Hill (San Francisco),  99.35%
Tom Brady (New England), 99.14%
Philip Rivers (San Diego),  99.04%
Kurt Warner (Arizona),  98.98%

Hmmm, all white QBs. Wonder what that’s about?

Of the Top 10, only Ryan and Rodgers (minus his Grizzly Adams beard) do anything for me. I can barely stand to look at Favre, but mainly because he’s acted like a dick the past year. The QBs I find the hottest are Brady Quinn, Alex Smith, Joey Harrington and Peyton Manning. Those are my faves, what about yours? And do you buy the “facial symmetry” idea? I find the whole package makes up attractiveness for me, not just the shape of their face.

The NFL's version of the Great Train Robbery had a Sunday showing in the Old West

by Alex Marvez

DENVER - The NFL's version of the Great Train Robbery had a Sunday showing in the Old West.

And just like the hapless passengers in the classic film short, the Denver Broncos were fleeced.

Cutler and Denver quarterback Kyle Orton — who was part of the trade between the two teams — faced off on the same field for the first time since the deal was made. Comparing the two performances would be like comparing special effects from an old black and white film to one of today's blockbusters.

Would LOVE to watch this hot college boy play football! Josh Nunes

josh_nunes10

27th August 2009 by thesportsfag

Stanford freshman Josh Nunes is no dummy. In high school he was one of six athletes in California, and the only football player, to win the John Wooden Scholar Athlete Award for athletic and academic achievement. Although from a gay point of view, decommitting from Tennessee and blowing your chances of hanging out with hotties Aaron and Zach Rogers wasn’t a very good decision. However, sharing the sidelines with the tall, dark and handsome look of fellow Stanford freshman Jordan Najvar isn’t so bad.

Back to football
In his three-year prep career Josh threw for 6,306 yards and 54 touchdowns and was rated as the 13th-best pro-style quarterback in the nation by Rivals.com.

At 6-4, 205 lbs he has the build, ability and fundamentals to run Jim Harbaugh’s offense. Josh will certainly redshirt this season but look for him to challenge Andrew Luck next season for the starting job.

Quarterbacks who keep us "up"!

mark_sanchez_shirtless_thumb

Good news for gay sports fans on Tuesday. Part-time lifeguard Mark Sanchez was named the Jets opening day starter which means that, unlike Brady Quinn during his rookie season, Sanchez will get lots of face time on TV. Speaking of Quinn, he’s still listed as number one on the Browns depth chart.

Brady Quinn is ‘Muscle & Fitness’ cover model

Aug 24th, 2009 by Jim Buzinski.

Cleveland Browns quarterback Brady Quinn hasn’t done a whole lot yet in his NFL career and still might not be the Browns’ 2009 starter. But this still has not stopped him from getting product endorsements and being regularly featured on the cover of magazines.

His latest cover is the upcoming issue of “Muscle & Fitness,” which bills him as the “NFL’s hardest working quarterback.” Hardest body? Yes. Hardest working? I think Peyton Manning and Tom Brady would disagree. The article is not online, but there is a photo gallery and “making of” video. Quinn is not shirtless, but he still shows a lot of his impressive (not doughy) body.

Is The PGA Ready For A Gay Golfer?

Gay golfer It was once joked that "golf" was an acronym for "gentleman only, ladies forbidden." This is definitely not the case anymore. Not only do millions of women play golf, but the LPGA Tour has a history of openly gay women comprising a portion of its membership.

Weekend Hot Jock: Surfer Richard Christie

Jul 24th, 2009 by Jim Buzinski.

The Hurley U.S. Open of Surfing is going on in Huntington Beach, Calif., this weekend and contributing photographer Brent sent us a couple of New Zealand surfer Richard Christie.

Christie is 20, 6-1 and 182 pounds, and is a hot newcomer on the circuit. He described his surfing strength as “having the ability to surf horse-shit waves with style, power and flair.” Sounds good to us. Photos:

Gay volleyball player nets success

Gay volleyball player nets success
by Ross Forman
2009-07-22

Late in his freshman season at Loyola University in 2001, volleyball player Robbie Martin told one of his close friends, a player on the school's Division I soccer team, that he was gay.

The friend was not accepting or comfortable with the news.

And promptly, Martin's friend took it upon himself to out Martin to other Rambler athletes on the school's campus on the North Side of Chicago.

Timberlake’s Greener Green

Timberlake’s Greener Green

by Adam Spangler

“I started by asking whether you can turn a golf course into an eco-friendly place,” explains pop star Justin Timberlake, whose new public golf course, Mirimichi, opens in rural Millington, Tennessee, on July 25. “It turns out you can.” Timberlake bought the 339-acre course (where he first learned the game and where his parents got married) at auction in 2007 to protect it from development. Now a full upgrade is almost complete. The course’s geothermal and solar energy systems are so efficient, 20 percent of the club’s energy will be funneled back to the Tennessee Energy Grid, and the clubhouse will be a contender for Platinum LEED status. State-of-the-art irrigation systems and recirculating creeks will cut water use, and the property is set to receive Audubon Classic Sanctuary certification. But eco improvements aren’t the only story; the play is also better, thanks to a course redesign by a team that worked with Palmer and Nicklaus (starting at $59; mirimichi.com).

Weekend Hot Jock: Romain Barras

Jul 18th, 2009 by Jim Buzinski

French decathlete Romain Barras has been an Outsports favorite since his webmaster asked permission to run some of our photos of Barras on his website. Unlike many jocks, Barras (29, 6-4 and 187 pounds) doesn’t run away from the gays. In fact, he is flattered to be considered hot since we have such good taste in men. Barras recently finished fourth at a major event in Poland, where Trackpic got some new shirtless shots (below).

Roger Federer is Grand champion and No. 1

Jul 6th, 2009 by Cyd Zeigler jr..

Roger Federer and Andy Roddick treated tennis fans to a spectacular match on Sunday that couldn’t have been a more fitting cap to Federer’s run to a record-setting 15th Grand Slam title. Last year’s match between Federer and Rafael Nadal is regarded by some as the greatest Wimbledon match of all time: Yesterday’s match may have topped it (though some argue very well that, with the poor returns, it was a boring marathon of a final). If nothing else, the match featured more games than any other Wimbledon match in history and the longest fifth-set tiebreak ever. Ultimately, Federer unleashed some pressure in the waning games of the fifth set, Roddick didn’t respond, and Federer now stands atop the sport after an epic 5-7, 7-6 (8-6), 7-6 (7-5), 3-6, 16-14 win.
