Amazing Race Features Gay Brothers

Mcmillen

The new season of The Amazing Race features Dan (left) and Sam McMillen, two gay brothers from Liberty, Missouri who just recently came out to one another.

Via CBS' cast description:

Brothers for 21 years, Sam and Dan will tell you that their relationship did not truly start until last summer when they both came out and told each other that they were gay.
Growing up Christian in a conservative community, neither one of them felt comfortable enough coming out at an early age but after doing so, they've found a whole new bond with one another and instantly became closer through honesty and trust.  Sam and Dan will tell you that being gay is only one of the many aspects of their lives.
Dan describes himself as organized, open-minded and spontaneous and hopes to gain a new sense of appreciation for his life from running the Race with his brother.  His hobbies include exercise, volunteering and traveling.
Sam claims to be optimistic and happy-go-lucky and his hobbies include cinema, logic games and anything involving the outdoors.  Communication may be the biggest challenge for this Team, as they claim to be polar opposites.  From academic interests to how they approach tasks, these brothers are very different in everything they do.  Due to his passive mentality, Sam will need to be more vocal to overcome Dan's blunt, assertive personality in order to contribute to the team while on the road.
Sam is pursuing a degree in medicine while Dan has one more year left at William Jewell College to complete his business degree.  When asked what former Team they would model their style of play after, Sam points to Nick and Starr because they maintained a positive attitude which carried them to the $1 million prize. Dan identifies with the competitive style of Rob and Amber.  Both brothers hope that the Race will take their new found closeness to the next level and help them forge an even stronger bond.

The Best Fall Gay TV Guide Ever! | Glee

Why It’s Gay: A gay teen character, a couple of extremely hot leading men, lots of musical numbers, the hilarious (and out) Jane Lynch, and out creator Ryan Murphy. Plus, supporting roles for Kristin Chenoweth, Victor Garber, and Josh Groban. That gay enough for you?

When It’s On: After its post-American Idol premiere last spring, the show returns for its second episode on Wednesday, September 9th at 9 PM (Fox).

AfterElton.com Says: Kurt, Chris Colfer’s gay teen character, gets a decent amount of screen time in the first thirteen episodes, not just coming out to his friends, but also even getting a chance to be a sports hero. “Never in my life did I think I'd ever play a football hero,” Colfer tells us. “He's able to do a certain football move to kick the ball ala BeyoncĂ©, so the football coach recruits him.”

Added Matthew Morrison, “Some people call it the gayest show on TV. It’s gayer than Ellen DeGeneres.”

One Life to Live's New Gay Couple

Gay Kishmet

Scott Evans and Brett Claywell chat about their highly anticipated kiss on One Life to Live.

By Nelson Branco

Lately, gays are all the rage on daytime television. ABC’s One Life to Live, which told arguably the best gay storyline in soap history with then unknown actor Ryan Phillippe in 1992, is the latest sudser to spin a tale of love, lust, and betrayal from the rainbow perspective. A lot has changed since 1992, which is why the Emmy-winning series is returning to its gay roots. This time around “the smart man’s soap” is tackling a new perspective on the age-old coming-out tale: last month, it was revealed that "straight" police officer Oliver Fish (played by Scott Evans) and gay med student/technician Kyle Lewis (played by Brett Claywell), shared a sexual past in college.
